Centre Based Sessions
Sports Alive’s centre-based sessions are all run as open access. We currently have four centres, Fazakerley – Adlam Activity Centre, Everton – BNENC, Tuebrook- Hope centre and Kirkby at Northwood Community Centre.
We are able to give young people a safe environment to socialise and to develop and learn new skills sets.
Our sports activities include Kin-Ball, table tennis, dodgeball, hockey, basketball, football and boxing. We also do board games, photography, cooking, team games and arts and crafts.
Throughout the year our Half Term Programmes have a different theme that we encourage our young people to be involved with as much as possible. For example Water week which includes water based activities as well as water safety sessions with the RNLI.
Sports Alive centre-based sessions are split into age groups.
Junior Sessions – 7-11 years old
Inbetweener Sessions – 12-14 years old
Senior sessions 15+
Sessions are all Open Access, young people are free to come and go.
Sports Alive team have changed and expanded over the years, as we build the foundation so that our staff continue to learn and grow. We work flexible hours, offer extensive training courses and development opportunities.
Working for Sports Alive our employees are forward thinking, creative, putting youth at the forefront of their sessions, and are able to plan structured activities, or events. Our approach aims to make a difference, allowing children and young people the chance to play, learn and follow pathways to education or employment.
Our outreach & detached youth work allows us to offer alternative pathways away from being on the streets and build strong relationships with young people. We support them and offer alternative positive activities with the aim in reducing involvement in high-risk activity and anti-social behaviour.
Sports Alive also employ staff that are classed as youth workers themselves and some have come through our services, before starting their journey into youth work.
Sports Alive centre-based sessions are split into two age groups.
Junior Sessions – 7-12 age range
Inbetweener Sessions – 12-14 age range
Sessions are all Open Access, young people are free to come and go as they please.
Sports Alive offers a variety of activities from sports games, to arts and crafts. Starting for 2022 will be our new taster sessions delivered by Your Edge Training to engage with our young people on the basics of First Aid.
Keep an eye out in our Events Calendar for more sessions due to come.
