Summer Fun and Growth: Highlights
This summer, our youth program was packed with exciting activities and memorable experiences, from sports sessions, park session, trips, to arts and crafts, and the launch of our new youth truck!
Our sports sessions were a huge hit, with everyone getting active and having fun. The energy was infectious, and the spirit of teamwork was inspiring especially during our Olympic themed week. We also tapped into our creative sides with arts and crafts sessions and our young people produced a masterpiece that will go on display at Fazakerley train session. More on this coming soon…..
Youth Truck Launch One of the highlights of the summer was the launch of our youth truck. This mobile unit is designed to bring resources and activities directly to our community. The launch event was a quiet one, and focused on getting the truck out in our local parks as its jammed packed with games, educationally resources, and equipment, it has brought a lot of excitement about the new opportunities the truck will bring.
Water Safety week This year we worked in partnership with the RNLI who delivered water safety training with 50 of our young people. Our young people were able to explore the facilities and learn about all the amazing things their volunteers do, the young people loved the sessions! This kind of partnership work is vital for the work we do and it allows us to offer more experiences to our young people like Aquapark trip and Kayaking with the sea cadets.
A week away This year was our Kirkby inbetweeners groups, turn to do a residential at Playaway. The young people participated in a range of activities from the outdoor pool, hill walking and waterfall swimming, this types of activities are great for our young people’s development and independence and we all had a ball!
Huge thank you to our other partner Fazakerley Federation who supplied us with over 1600 packed lunches over summer! All in all we were able to supply over 2000 meals for young people across North Liverpool, Halton and Kirkby. How amazing is that.
We’re really proud of all our participants and very grateful to everyone who helped make this summer program a success.
